We will be holding our 7th Annual “Spare the Violence” Bowl-a-thon on Sunday, April 2, 2017 for Alternative House, other Domestic Violence Programs and various                                                    local Charities.

We would like to invite you and 5 of your friends or colleagues to enter a team in our Fundraiser or Sign up alone or with a friend and we will assign you to open DSC01041teams. It is easy to do and it’s a fun-filled afternoon while raising money for a very worthy cause. Registration is required, and should be mailed to CWOT Shelley Snider, 1 Marguerite Road, N. Chelmsford, MA 01863. Each team is required to pay a DSC01054registration fee of $60.00 or $10. 00 per person which includes 2 hours of bowling and shoes for each of your 6 bowlers. Click on the Registration form below. Each team member should read the Participants Letter attached below. Teams must be registered by March 24th.

We then ask your team members to solicit a minimum of $50 per bowler or $300DSC01046 per team of 6 in sponsorships. We prefer to work with flat rate pledges (example $5.00, $10.00, etc.). The day of the event you would then turn in your collected pledges and join the other teams for a fun and relaxing afternoon of bowling and prizes. Click on the Sponsor Form below.

DSC01177 The Chelmsford Women of Today was recognized by the United States Women of Today and the Massachusetts Women of Today.

US President Joyce Harpster awarded 6 local members with the Presidential Pin: Anne Dumke, Marcia Allison, Pam Morrison, Irene Masson, Donna Severs and Shelley Snider.  Pam Morrison and Anne Dumke received Outstanding Local Officer awards and Chelmsford was recognized for their Domestic Violence Awareness programs.DSC01200

Massachusetts Women of Today awarded Outstanding Rookie of the Year to Shelley Snider; Outstanding Member of the Year to Irene Masson and Unsung Hero to Marcia Allison. 13 CWOT members received recognition for Sharing the Vision.

Chelmsford awarded Anne Dumke Officer of the Year.  Donna Severs and Irene Masson each received Chairperson of the Year.

Congratulations to all members for the accomplishments of the chapter during the 2015-2016 year.

Chelmsford Women of Today Make a Difference!

The Chelmsford Women of Today Make a Difference in your world! CWOT works throughout the year to support your local community and many non-profit organizations in our area. This year CWOT gave to support to Alternative House, Table of Plenty, Friends of the Library, the Chelmsford Dog Park, Lowell Wish Project, Our Fathers’ House, Catie’s Closet, Chelmsford Open Space Stewards, Live Smart, Birthday Wishes, Special Teams for Exceptional People, the Alzheimer Foundation, L’il Iguana, Chelmsford School Gift Card Program and Friends of the Senior Center. CWOT also supported the Chelmsford Secret Santa Program, Holiday for the Troops, The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Benevolent Fund and All Saint’s during the last year.

Muffins with Santa

Saturday, December 12, the Chelmsford Women of Today will be hosting Muffins with Santa from 9:00AM to 12:00 NOON at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 2 Westford St. by the Chelmsford center common.  No reservations are need.  Admission price includes an All-You-Can-Eat Continental Breakfast, various holiday craft projects, face painting, temporary tattoos and of course, a special visit with Santa. Cards will be available for children and parents to send notes to the troops for the holidays.  The cost of admission is $4.00 per adult and $3 per child (free for children under 6 months).  Color photos with Santa for $5.00 will be available to take home with you that morning and there will be some terrific raffle prizes.  Your support will help benefit the Chelmsford Secret Santa Program and other community projects. For more information, call Donna at 978-987-1809.

Lyme Disease, Prevention & Treatment

The general public is invited to a free Health and Wellness Seminar to be held May 29th at 7pm at the Adams Library. Dr. David Sidebottom, Director of Infectious Diseases at Lowell General Hospital will be presenting the latest research on Lyme Disease prevention and treatment. The Chelmsford Women of Today is co-sponsoring this event with Lowell General Hospital, Chelmsford Board of Health and the Chelmsford Public Library.

Dr. Sidebottom is currently the Director of Infectious Disease at Lowell General Hospital. He graduated Magna cum Laude from Duke University in Durham, NC, and received his M.D. at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. He was a Clinical and Research Fellow in Pediatric and Adult Infectious Diseases and Hospital Epidemiology at Children’s Hospital in Boston. He was an Instructor in Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine and an Instructor in Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and has numerous research publications to his credit. Dr. Sidebottom is the recipient of several awards for Infectious Diseases research from the National Institutes of Health and his professional affiliations include:

Member, Massachusetts Infectious Diseases Society
Member, American Society for Microbiology
Member, Massachusetts Medical Society
Past President, Middlesex North Medical Society
